The George Bass Gardens
About George Bass
George Bass (1771 - 1803), British explorer and Naval Surgeon. He, along with Mathew Flinders, sailed and explored 18 000 kms of Australian coastline. He set sail with a cargo bound for South America in 1803, and disappeared at sea and was never heard of again.
The George Bass Gardens, as with all the Memorial Gardens here, offer everlasting memorial options in a peaceful, private environment. With an arrangement of native and exotic plant species and the way in which these gardens are designed and situated bring forth a tranquil feel when reflecting upon the memories of loved ones no longer with us.
Memorials in this area, as with all the memorials within these memorial gardens, are enhanced by bronze memorial plaques, on which the inscriptions can relay information to future generations of family, friends and community. The Grace Adlington Rose Walk
The Grace Adlington Rose Walk is lined either side with Papa Meilland Standard roses, and provides a picturesque and fragrant entry point to the gardens beyond. The Grace Adlington Rose Walk provides memorial options for the discerning rose lover. M
Memorial placements can be an individual rose with the memorial plaque set on a blue pearl granite base, or ashes may be scattered within this rose garden and a memorial plaque placed along the path edge.
Family Estates
Family Estate memorials, as the name suggests, cater for the family, but are certainly not restricted to families.
With family estate memorials, your memorial stands alone in an individual garden bed and therefore is the most private and personal memorial available.
These gardens are planted with an assortment of trees and shrubs, but may be planted to your own specification, depending upon plant species and availability.
Family names may be portrayed in the way of name plates. These, along with stylish bronze memorial plaques, provide a most elegant and lasting tribute to one's life. Family estate gardens can take up to five interments. Larger gardens can be provided upon application.
