Nathaniel Bateman Memorial Wall
Batemans Bay was named after Nathaniel Bateman by Captain Cook on 22nd April 1770.

Nathaniel Bateman was Captain of Lord Coleville's ship the Northumberland, at the time when Captain Cook was serving as her master.

The Nathaniel Bateman Memorial Wall provides the family with an everlasting memorial option for the ashes of a loved one to be interred in a niche wall. The Nathaniel Bateman Memorial Wall has been designed so that the niches are capable of holding the full amount of ashes. These wall niches are complemented by a beautifully designed plaque with a bronze bud vase providing a most elegant memorial where small floral tributes may be placed, all of which are enhanced by a somewhat private courtyard surrounded by beautiful gardens.

Temporary memorial placements are also an option in this area. With temporary placements for up to three months free of charge, it gives families a place where they may visit their loved one and reflect on memories of times past within the peaceful and picturesque settings of the Broulee Memorial Gardens.
